  • The session fee is $595 for couples, $695 for larger groups.

That includes planning, your session, and delivery of a private online gallery with full-resolution retouched images and a print release. The link to the online gallery can be shared with family and friends so they can have access to the photos as well - no emailing photos! Wall art, folio boxes, and albums are also available for purchase.

  • A good rule of thumb is 35 to 50 images per hour spent photographing.

The exact number depends on your group size, how many combinations we are doing, how cooperative the smallest family members are, and whether we are including more candid activity-based images.

  • Most sessions last 60 to 90 minutes.

That gives us enough time for the full family, smaller family units, grandparents with grandkids, children together, couples, and individual portraits.

  • Your location is chosen before the session based on your group and your goals.

I help you choose a location that takes into account:

    • mobility limitations

    • ages of children

    • desired scenery

    • group size

    • walking distance

    • access

    • variety in the immediate area

The goal is not just to pick a pretty place. The goal is to pick a place that actually works for your people.

  • Yes, absolutely - many cabins feature beautiful decks with scenery or a large staircase inside for group shots. My experience as a local wedding photographer has given me skills for indoor photography as well as outside in natural light.

  • That is exactly the kind of thing I plan for.

Not every beautiful Smoky Mountain location is practical for every family. I will recommend locations that fit your group so nobody is miserable before we even start.

  • That is normal. In fact, expected.

I plan sessions knowing that little kids have limited patience and their own opinions about the matter. We move efficiently, get the important groupings first, and make room for natural expressions and movement. As a mom, I have had to deal with this many a time.

  • Once your session is booked, I can help guide you toward clothing that photographs well in the Smokies.

In general, I recommend coordinated rather than identical outfits, avoiding loud neon colors, and choosing clothing that fits the tone of the location.

If we are planning candid images in or around streams, water shoes are a smart idea.

  • In many cases, yes.

Pets can absolutely be part of the session, though some locations are better for that than others. Let me know in advance, and I will take that into account when recommending location options. Access to the Smokies is limited for dogs but it can still be done!

  • Mountain weather does what it pleases.

If the forecast looks questionable, we will talk through options. Depending on timing and conditions, that may mean adjusting the location, adjusting the session time, or rescheduling if necessary.

Let me add from experience that looking ahead more than 48 hours is unlikely to give you a true picture of what to expect. The weather can change very quickly in the mountains.

  • Your images are delivered through a private online gallery.

You will receive a link that can be shared with family members, which is especially useful for reunions and extended family sessions.

  • Not at all!

This service also works beautifully for:

    • maternity portraits

    • honeymoon portraits

    • anniversary sessions

    • senior pictures

    • couples

    • grandparents and grandchildren

    • car show attendees (show off that pony!)

The brand name centers on families because that is the main audience, but the session itself is flexible.

  • Yes, and that is one of the main reasons this brand exists.

If you are the one organizing a multi-family trip or reunion, I can help make sure we get the important combinations without the whole thing turning into chaos.

  • You bet!

If you have a large family, we can plan groupings in advance so the session moves efficiently and you do not spend the whole time trying to decide who stands where.

  • No. I work with families in and around the Smokies and help select a location based on where you are staying, your group, and the kind of scenery you want.

There are some wonderful spots not only in the North Carolina part of the national park but in the nearby Pisgah and Cherokee National Forests. Let’s keep options open!

  • Yes.

Your session includes digital delivery and a print release, but if you would like something more tangible, wall art, folio boxes, and albums are available for purchase.

  • As soon as you know your dates.

Popular vacation weeks and fall dates (especially October and November) in particular can fill quickly, and the earlier we start planning, the better the location and timing options usually are.

  • The first step is simple: go to the Contact page and send me the basics. Once I know your travel dates, group size, and what sort of scenery you love, I can help you figure out the rest without you having to reinvent the wheel.

  • Alas, no . . . but I have Photoshopped one realistically in a picture or two when the client has requested it.

And I always keep that between ourselves.
